As a follow up to the article on Benidetti and placebos, this author disputes the long term efficacy of placebos – especially for catastrophic illness. He doesn’t directly address Benidetti’s brain scans, however he does indicate that the “therapeutic ritual” is a bottom line for all medical practice.
